'Chandni Chowk To China' will not see a Diwali release
| By Taran Adarsh, Bollywood Hungama News Network Akshay Kumar's much-awaited CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA, directed by Nikhil Advani, was confirmed for Diwali release. But the film won't make it in the festive week. "There's some technical problem that has to be rectified," Nikhil Advani tells me. Will the film make it in the Diwali week? "No, it's not arriving in Diwali," producer Mukesh Talreja confirms, "The technical problem is being worked upon, but it is a time consuming process. The Prime Focus people are working on it. Plus, a lot of special effects are involved in our film. Our intention is to make a genuinely good film and we don't want to hurry up just because it's the Diwali week." So what's the new release date? "Right now, we don't know the date yet. It could be November-end or December," Talreja reveals. Meanwhile, those looking for a clash between SRK [BILLO BARBER] and Akki [CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA] must be disappointed! More on release dates: With CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA not arriving in Diwali, there's a strong possibility that GOLMAAL RETURNS, which was scheduled to arrive on November 7, will be preponed to Diwali [October 24]… YUVRAAJ might arrive in November/December/January. "We will take a call in a couple of days," Sunil Lulla of Eros tells me. Sunil also adds that BILLO BARBER is definitely arriving in Diwali. |
