Farhan Akhtar's 'Don 2' to go on floors next year
| New Delhi, Aug 21 (IANS) Confirming the news that he is making a sequel to "Don - The Chase Begins", director-turned-actor Farhan Akhtar said he will start shooting the film with Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role towards the end of next year. "I will be working with Shah Rukh Khan for 'Don 2'. We will begin shooting for it in the second half of next year," said Farhan. He was in the capital to promote "Rock On". He debuts as an actor with the film, which releases Aug 29. Directed by first-time director Abhishek Kapoor, "Rock On" also stars Arjun Rampal, Purab Kohli, Luke Kenny, Shahana Goswami, Koel Puri and TV actress Prachi Desai who is playing Farhan's love interest in the musical saga. "Don-The Chase Begins" was a remake of the 1978 Amitabh Bachchan-starrer action blockbuster "Don". While the original starred 70s glamour queen Zeenat Aman as the female lead, Priyanka Chopra played leading lady in the remake. Although Farhan confirmed Shah Rukh's presence in the film, he didn't speak about casting Priyanka in part two. Released in 2006, "Don-The Chase Begins" was labelled as a weak film against the profits and popularity that the original movie directed by Chandra Barot had garnered. |
